The Grandview School District is always looking for people to share their time with the students and staff. There are numerous opportunities! People can help with math-a-thons, walk-a-thons, bookfairs and other fundraising projects. They can help tutor students in math, reading, science, etc. Volunteers can help in the school office or library. Volunteers can pop popcorn! They can also assist with lunch and recess duty. There are opportunities to help on picture day, "Frenzy Friday," or when the Pacific Science Center comes to town. Volunteers can help the school nurses with paperwork or vision and hearing screenings. If you have time - we welcome you!
Current Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities abound in the District.
Grandview High School has a great opportunity for some volunteers that love to read. Students are required to accumulate reading points with a program called "Accelerated Reader." Students read a book and then take a test on the computer about the book. Because of the tight budget this year, the school will not be able to purchase more tests. They are looking for people that would be willing to read books, come up with 10 test questions about the book which will then be loaded into the program. Students will then be able to enjoy some of the books that have come out recently and succeed in reading.
