A WORD TO PARENTS

The middle school years are often bewildering for students and parents alike.  Let us assure you that, in spite of what your child may say or do during this era, it is not the time to show any less interest in his/her schooling or diligence in his/her upbringing.  Only about 20 percent of a student’s waking hours during the 13 years of their kindergarten to 12th grade career are actually spent in school.  We hope the contact time we share with your child will be complimentary and mutually enhancing to their continued development.  We encourage you to consult with your child’s teacher(s) early and form the team that will best meet the needs of your scholar.  Please let us know when and why your student misses school.  Providing ongoing nurture, security, and positive atmosphere at home will prepare your child for the physical, mental, and emotional rigors of not only Grandview Middle School, but also these formative years in general.  Finally, it is our hope that by working together and supporting each other, this school year will be a positive and enlightening experience for all of us.

THE COMMUNITY
