 Dear Families of Harriet Thompson Elementary School,
On behalf of all the staff at H. Thompson Elementary School, it is indeed my pleasure to welcome you to a new and exciting school year. For those of you whose children have attended our school in the past and those of you whose children are just entering H. Thompson, we are pleased to have you as a part of our school community. The goal of H. Thompson is educational excellence, and striving to reach this goal must be a cooperative effort on the part of the students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community. Academic achievement, character development, commitment to safety, and a sense of belonging and community are clearly high priorities at H. Thompson. I encourage you to become actively involved in your child’s studies and in the family activities offered throughout the year. I also encourage parents to volunteer, to attend school functions, to join and participate and be actively involved in your child’s academic progress. Our first newsletter will be sent home the first week of school with your child. Plan to take some time reviewing upcoming events, classroom updates, and parent community activities.
